Club foot deformity is 100% correctable if treatment starts within a month of childs birth. treatment consist of casting and a percut tenotomy.
Dr Deepak Khurana is a fellowship trained Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon practising in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
He deals with all ailments affecting the musculoskeletal system of children and adolescents. His areas of special interest are hip pathologies including birth anomalies, post infective and post traumatic sequelae, deformity correction and limb reconstruction.
Dr Deepak completed his medical education from Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur. Subsequently he completed his postgraduate residency from the same institute and obtained his Masters in Orthopaedic Surgery from Rajasthan university of health and sciences. Dr Deepak first developed an interest in Paediatric Orthopaedics during the course of his residency in SMS, under the guidance of Dr D.S.Meena.
He did his intial training in Paediatric Orthopaedics at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai under mentorship of Dr Atul Bhaskar. During his year long fellowship, he was exposed to the full range and breadth of the various disciplines of Paediatric Orthopaedics which included trauma, hip surgery, limb reconstruction, foot and ankle problems, management of neuromuscular pathologies, sports injuries and spinal deformity correction. For advanced training he then joined Dr Ashok N. Johari at Children's Orthopaedic Centre(COC), Mahim, Mumbai as a clinical fellow. At COC he learned the art of decision making in complex and revision cases especially in Cerebral palsy, Hip preservation, neglected and congenital deformities.
Since his return to Jaipur, Dr Deepak has been associated with different institutions and has taken the lead in setting up the Paediatric Orthopaedic departments at Jeevan rekha superspeciality hospital, Newton CDC at Babylon hospital and Goyal hospital.
He is well trained in handling all types of paediatric bone and joint issues including cerebral palsy, club foot, paediatric bone and joint infections, complex limb deformities. He has an expert command in treating limb deformities with ilizarov methodology.
